Lesson 15 The Commands of CHRIST
Part 7
We have come to the last part of lesson 15 as we look at the commands of CHRIST for HIS followers.
19. Preaching the Gospel
Each and every Christian, regardless of age, gender, position, wealth, or education, is to preach the Gospel wherever he is.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
John 21:15-17 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
20. Prepared for the Second Coming of CHRIST
CHRIST´s return could occur at any moment and we as Christians must be ready.
Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
21. Faithful unto Death
The Christian cannot be on again - off again. We must remain faithful until the end.
Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
¨¨¨¨
During this lesson we have looked at 21 of CHRIST´s commands to us as Christians. We should use these commands as a check list of our personal lives before GOD. JESUS gave these commands to us as a guide to follow.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Lesson 15 The Commands of CHRIST
Part 6
Let´s continue to look at CHRIST´s commands for the Christian.
16. Our Love to the Brethren
Sometimes it is harder to love the brethren (other Christians) than it is to love the lost sinner, and yet we are commanded to not only love the brethren, but to forgive them and not be condemning.
John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Matthew 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Luke 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
17. To Be Perfect
JESUS was in all things perfect. As Christians we must daily strive to be an example of HIS perfection to the world.
Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
18. Wisdom
As Christians we need wisdom from GOD. This is not the same as human wisdom or knowledge.
Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Lesson 15 The Commands of CHRIST
Part 5
We have reached our halfway point in this lesson on CHRIST´s commands.
13. Not to Be Covetous
The live of a Christian is to be heaven-centered, not earth-centered.
Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
14. Avoid Hypocrisy
The Christian must beware of becoming a religious hypocrite. The pretend Christian is a great hindrance to the Kingdom of GOD. Playing the perfect saint on Sunday while being the worldly sinner all week is not pleasing to CHRIST.
Luke 12:1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Matthew 23:2-3 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
15. Meekness
Meekness is not the same as being weak. In truth, only a Christian of great strength can be meek.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mark 10:44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
Luke 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Lesson 15 The Commands of CHRIST
Part 4
The commands of CHRIST we have looked at so far have been: repentance, believe, new birth, receiving the HOLY GHOST, following JESUS, prayer, faith, searching the Scripture, and letting your light shine. Let´s continue….
10. Supreme Love to GOD
The Christian is to love and serve GOD in every aspect of his life.
Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11. Our Duty to Men in Authority
As Christians we are to love and obey those in authority over us. We are to pray for them as well. This command is not always easy, and I must admit that for me it can be conditional. For example, if those in authority over me are godless, evil men who would require me to be disobedient to GOD then it is my duty to obey GOD, not them.
Mark 12:17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
Hebrews 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
12. Our Duty to Our Neighbors
Remember, your neighbor is not just the family next door. Your neighbor is anyone and everyone who is in need.
Matthew 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Luke 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
