Lesson 15 The Commands of CHRIST
Part 3
Up to this point we have looked at 6 of CHRIST´s commands for HIS followers: repentance, belief, new birth, receiving the HOLY GHOST, following JESUS, and prayer.
7. Faith
If a Christian is able to do great things for GOD´s glory it is because of his faith in a great GOD. Without faith we are unable to do anything for GOD.
Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
John 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
Matthew 14:27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
8. Searching the Scripture
A Christian needs daily nourishment in his spiritual life just as in his physical life. It is through prayer and studying the Scripture that the Christian is fed. It is a daily necessity in the life of the believer.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
II Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of GOD, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;
That the man of GOD may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
9. Letting Your Light Shine
As Christians we must daily shine for HIM, bringing light and hope to this dark and troubled world.
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Mark 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion
